Africa, Shongweni village is in a pastoral setting located in the gently
rolling coastal mountain region known as the Valley of 1,000 hills.

While set in a beautiful landscape and very close to a major population center,
the villagers of Shongweni live a life of very lean means. Unemployment in the village
is very high and the HIV/AIDS infection rate is over 40%
- impacting every family in the village.
