As a result of the HIV/AIDs pandemic, average life expectancy of many villagers in South
Africa is less than 40 years.
This leaves hundreds of young orphans without a home, a caregiver, and at times, even
food to eat.
The mission of the African Orphans Project is to provide simple, decent homes
for vulnerable children and their caregivers, and to build the capacity of the
local Lutheran church to provide ongoing support to these families.

Sunday at Shongweni Lutheran Church
Through the African Orphans Project partners and participants, we are able to
provide the orphans of Shongweni with a church, homes, support, and a community center
(coming in 2008) for training and education programs.
Please consider joining us in this mission.
